Childcare

The municipality of Ludvika provides childcare and educational facilities. While each centre is different they are all geared towards everyday educational needs.

Preschool (förskola)

For children from 1-5 years of age there are pre-school. For children in need of special support or supervision there are special services. Fees are payable for nurseries and pre-school.

Public Pre-school (allmän förskola)

Children aged 3-5 have the right to 15 hours pre-school class, each week, free of charge.

15 hours are not automatically free. You must apply for public preeschool.
If you want to let your child go to preschool for 15 hours for free, it is called ”public preschool” and the time of stay must be between Tuesday to Thursday from 10am to 2pm on weekdays in Ludvika and is only available during the school's academic year.
