Out-of-school care (fritidshem)

All children in pre-school class up to year 6 (ages 6 to 13) who have both parents working or studying are entitled to a placement in out-of-school care when needed. Out-of-school care are not compulsory.

The regular opening hours for out-of-school care are 06:30–18:30.

• Once you have received confirmation of which school your child will attend, you can apply for out-of-school care.
• For children starting preschool class in the autumn term, applications for out-of-school care should be submitted as soon as possible, preferably before 30 April of the same year.
• For all others, applications for out-of-school care should be submitted at least one month before the desired start date.

Fees are payable for out-of-school care. For example:

07:30 – 08:30: Out-of-school care before school class – fees are payable
08:30 – 13:30: School class – free of charge but compulsory
13:30 – 16:00: Out-of-school care after school class – fees are payable
