Welcome Anton

Statistics show that many people are moving to the Municipality of Ludvika, and that's why we think it's great to introduce some of them. One of them is Anton Duvström.

Anton Duvström

Welcome to the Municipality of Ludvika, Anton Duvström. What brought you here?

– The job at transformer services at Hitachi. It was my cousin who recommended the position. I write reports for oil and gas analysis based on oil samples from the field and the factory here in Ludvika. From those, combined with various electrical measurements, we can make an overall assessment of the condition of the transformers. This is my first job after graduating from KTH as a civil engineer in energy and environment.

– My dad was born and raised here but moved to Stockholm when he was 22. I still have family here; my uncle, my cousin lives here with her husband and children, as well as my dad’s cousins and aunts.

Tell us a bit about yourself!

– I’m from Upplands Väsby outside Stockholm. My dad is from here, and my mum is from Canada with Korean roots. I have a girlfriend whom I met after moving here; she’s a teacher at Kyrkskolan.

– I’ve played handball all my life and was about to start playing here. But then an old injury from high school flared up again. I love music, and I’ve played guitar since I was 13. Live performances are great fun, including the ones organised by Svängremmen. It’s also been really cosy to sit at the café or on the pier on a Friday evening and listen to a troubadour.

What are your impressions of your new home municipality?

– It’s much calmer here compared to Upplands Väsby. Less noise, fewer cars and so on. And it’s nice to have a proper winter.

– Everything is close by. For me, going shopping takes ten minutes by bike. It’s a five-minute bike ride to work. That’s nothing! In Stockholm, if I’d worked in the city, it would probably have taken 45 minutes to an hour door-to-door. So here you get much more free time.

– I really enjoy living here! It seems like everyone knows everyone. There’s a good chance you’ll run into someone you know in town. At the same time, Stockholm is still close enough when I want to visit family and friends.
