Hepi Susanti

Welcome to the Municipality of Ludvika, Hepi Susanti. What brought you here?

– I came to Sweden four years ago to study a master’s programme at the University of Gothenburg. At the time, I had received a scholarship. Later, I got a job in Gothenburg, but eventually wanted to move to a smaller town. I found and applied for an interesting position at Hitachi in Ludvika as a Supply Chain Specialist. We are responsible for purchasing materials for the transformers, so I have a lot of contact with suppliers as well as our engineers.

– I’ve been interested in Scandinavia for a long time. When you read about it in the media, you get the impression that the quality of life is high, that you are the world’s happiest people, and that there are great opportunities here.

Tell us a bit about yourself!

– I’m from Bali, Indonesia. I enjoy outdoor activities, running and swimming. I have a blog where I write about culture. I really appreciate the Swedish fika breaks – they’re a great way to meet and talk to people. I’ve learned a lot about Swedish culture during fika.

What are your impressions of your new home municipality?

– Ludvika definitely has a small-town feel, with friendly people. It’s easy to get out into nature. For example, we have a large lake right next to the office.
– I like that the seasons are so distinct here. In Bali, it’s the same all year round.
