Welcome Katarina
Statistics show that many people are moving to the Municipality of Ludvika, and that's why we think it's great to introduce some of them. One of them is Katarina Jovic.

Welcome to the Municipality of Ludvika, Katarina Jovic. What brought you here?
– I moved to Sweden last year and started working at Northvolt in Skellefteå. In March this year, I decided to relocate to beautiful Ludvika after receiving a great job offer from Hitachi, which I gladly accepted.
Tell us a bit about yourself!
– I hold a Master’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, but throughout my career I have worked in the field of quality, both as an engineer and a specialist. I see learning as a key part of personal development. One of the main reasons we moved to Sweden was that I didn’t want to miss the opportunity and later regret it. After receiving the offer, I reflected and decided to experience life far away from my home country—and so far, it has lived up to my expectations.
– Since moving to Ludvika, my son and I have explored Dalarna, going on excursions through forests and around lakes. My son, who is five years old, has learned Swedish impressively well in just one year. I didn’t expect him to become so proficient so quickly. I can proudly say he is linguistically rich, as he can communicate in Serbian, English, and Swedish—something I believe will be a great advantage for him in pursuing his dream career.
What are your impressions of your new home municipality?
– Sweden has incredibly beautiful nature, with plenty of forests and lakes, and it’s clear that people take good care of it. It feels safe, especially here in Ludvika. We feel very comfortable living here. Just a few kilometers outside the town center, you’re surrounded by nature. It’s a wonderful place for children to grow up.
