Welcome Nandita
Statistics show that many people are moving to the Municipality of Ludvika, and that's why we think it's great to introduce some of them. One of them is Nandita Farhad.

Welcome to the Municipality of Ludvika, Nandita Farhad. What brought you here?
– Destiny! I didn’t even realise I had applied for a job at Hitachi, I was just clicking around. But really, the journey began when I was a child in Bangladesh. I saw a BBC programme about Sweden – cobblestone streets in Stockholm, the calm, the free education – and thought: one day I want to go there.
– In 2010 I moved to Linköping to do my Master’s, and there I felt more at home than anywhere else. Since then, I’ve lived and worked in several countries, but I always felt drawn back here. After many years in academia I wanted to try industry. When I met my future manager at Hitachi we clicked immediately, and in January I moved to Ludvika. After only a few months I knew I wanted to stay.
Tell us a bit about yourself!
– In Linköping I joined a society for Indian dance. I love dancing; zumba or Indian dance. But I haven’t found a group here yet.
– What I regret most, and even feel ashamed about, is not learning Swedish after so many years here. When I was teaching in Linköping, it was to international students. My top priority now is to learn the language, so I’ve applied to SFI.
What are your impressions of your new home municipality?
– I felt so welcomed when I arrived. I was helped off the train by a lady called Lisa, and we’ve stayed in touch. And I’ve also got to know Gunnar Andersson and his wife Agneta through Högbergskyrkan. They helped me feel at home here, and I’m so grateful.
– What I wish is that there were direct trains to Stockholm. I think Ludvika would become even more attractive if it were easier to commute.
