Welcome to the Municipality of Ludvika, Ole Jörgen Bogen Arenth! What brought you here?

– Someone from the collective in Trondheim where I lived recommended that I apply for a job at Hitachi Energy here. I thought it sounded exciting to work for such a large company that is a world leader in power transmission. I now work as a Supply Chain Management specialist (handling tasks such as procurement, follow-up, and logistics flows). The work environment is great, and so are my colleagues.

Tell us a little about yourself!

– I’m turning 26 in April. I studied in Trondheim but grew up in Skoger, outside Drammen. I’ve been into orienteering since I was eight and have continued the sport everywhere I’ve lived – including in Ludvika. It’s a hobby I value highly. Last year, I joined the board of Ludvika OK and am now responsible for the junior and senior committee. I’m the race director for Trampen, an event the club has organized since the 1930s. Trampen takes place on August 31st and attracts competitors from all over Dalarna. This year, we’re aiming to get more Hitachi employees involved. We also held "Hitta ut" this summer, which was a huge success. The forests and nature around Ludvika are a great resource.

What are your impressions of your new home municipality?

– In terms of outdoor activities, the Municipality of Ludvika is fantastic, but there might be a lack of sports facilities. When I was studying at university, I was at a research center that focused on sports facilities. It’s important to invest in facilities that aren’t just aimed at elite sports but also include grassroots sports and opportunities for children and young people. The swimming hall is excellent, but if you want to use other facilities, you might have to go to Borlänge or Falun.
