Statistics show that many people are moving to the Municipality of Ludvika, and that's why we think it's great to introduce some of them. Among them are Pattath Narayanan Kapil och Manjari Mundanad.

Welcome to the Municipality of Ludvika, Pattath Narayanan Kapil and Manjari Mundanad. What brought you here?

– Work. Ludvika is synonymous with HVDC and is known worldwide in that field. For an electrical engineer, coming here is a dream. In addition, we gain a better quality of life here and a great opportunity for our children to grow up. Moving here was a good decision, which we did on 30 January. Since then, we have started getting to know the municipality.

Tell us a bit about yourselves!

– My wife and I originally come from the southern part of India known as Kerala, but both of us were born and brought up in different parts of India. I was raised in a place called Gandhinagar, Gujarat and my wife was raised in a place called Mumbai, Maharashtra. I studied in Gujarat, got a job and served as a teaching faculty member in an educational institution for 15 years. Now it was time to move on and devote my career to something else, like industry or R&D. I am also waiting to defend my doctoral thesis, which I submitted in the first week of January 2025. I hope that moment will come soon, says Kapil (at the time of the interview).

– I grew up and studied in Mumbai. I have a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in business administration. At the moment, I am freelancing from home for an American company. Together, we have two children, says Manjari.

What are your impressions of your new home municipality?

– Here, there is a clearer boundary between when the workday ends and leisure time begins. It’s a new way of looking at life for us. Everything is calm and organised here, and there is time for family. It’s a beautiful little place, says Kapil.

– In Mumbai, everything and everyone are running around the clock and there is continuous hustle, but coming to Ludvika, there is a calm and peace. I wasn’t used to it at first, but now I’m really enjoying it, says Manjari.
