Welcome Vipin och Aishwarya

Statistics show that many people are moving to the Municipality of Ludvika, and that's why we think it's great to introduce some of them. Among them are Vipin och Aishwarya.

Welcome to the Municipality of Ludvika, Vipin Jayan and Aishwarya Nambiar, what brought you here?

– I came to Sweden in 2015 and Vipin in 2016. At that time, we lived in Jönköping and Växjö respectively. Then Vipin got a job in Strängnäs. There was a lot of traveling, and since we wanted to move in together, we started looking for jobs in the same town. Last summer, we both started at Hitachi Energy.

Tell us a little about yourselves!

– I grew up in Qatar and have always been culturally active; I’ve been singing, dancing, and performing on stage since I was 5 years old. I studied to be an engineer in India and placed second in Miss Queen of India. A film director heard about me, which led to my appearance in a film that became popular in southern India. Now I teach dance and music at Studieförbundet Vuxenskolan and work as a Civil Design Lead at Hitachi Energy. I didn’t drink coffee before, but since all my colleagues had coffee all the time, I tried it. Now I can’t do without coffee and even bring Swedish coffee when we travel to India or Qatar, Aishwarya laughs.

– I was born and raised in Bahrain. I met Aishwarya when we were studying. I like the LEAN business model, which brought me to Sweden. I worked with product development in Jönköping and then moved to Strängnäs. Now I work as an improvement specialist for all of Europe. We live in Högberget and have a Siberian Husky puppy named Dollar. When there was ice on Väsman, I trained him to pull me on a scooter, Vipin adds.

What are your impressions of your new home municipality?

– That there is really great Indian food here! There have been Indian restaurants in the other places we have lived too, but here it’s truly wonderful! There’s also a mix of people from different cultures, Aishwarya says.

– In Stockholm, everyone is always in a hurry, but here the pace is more relaxed. You can see that Ludvika is changing. It’s really starting to get on the map. And as more people move here, the range of services will increase, Vipin concludes.
