Learn Swedish through SFI
Do you want to learn Swedish or improve your Swedish skills? Then SFI – Swedish for Immigrants – might be something for you.
SFI is a free education programme for adults who do not have Swedish as their first language. At SFI, you learn Swedish that you can use in everyday life, at work, and when dealing with public authorities.
With us, you will study:
- how to read, write, speak and understand Swedish
- together with other adults from different countries
Who can apply to SFI? You must be:
- over 16 years old
- registered as a resident in Sweden
- and not have Swedish as your first language

VBU (Västerbergslagens utbildningsförbund) is a joint education authority run by the municipalities of Ludvika and Smedjebacken. It is responsible for upper secondary education and adult education, including SFI.
